This morning i went out to the national mueseum, beautiful building and really big. unfortunately you are not allowed to take photos inside. Inside the museum there were a few different rooms you went into and you found out lots of information about religion and beliefs in cambodia, there was a room with loads of 1000 buddha images, inventors of famous temples etc and history behind them all. very interesting but alot of info to take in. after here i walked into town and had pizza for lunch, took half the pizza back for some of the locals that work at guesthouse, was like early xmas present for them! after that it was off to new hope i went for another day, 6new volunteers arrived at start of week so about 3 teachers in our class now, still fun though as you can spend more time with the kids on individual basis and those who are struggling. today we did the usual maths and english and rhymes - taught them 1,2,3,4,5 song, they loved it.older class were learning about travelling etc which was good fun and their english is fab really when you think about it and realise some of them have not even been learning english for a year. brilliant! they are getting id cards for the school and kids have been asked to take in 2passport photos (they didnt even know what a passport was) and their birth certificate which again some of them do not have. there was a couple of kids in my class who said they would not be able to get pics done so i took photos of them on camera and said i will get them developed for them.
really hot again today, hard to put up with the heat at times. one of the khmer teachers reckoned it was going to rain again tonight, hope it does as may clear the air for a day.
went out for dinner this evening as martin and lydia are leaving to go to thailand tomorow, had a lovely meal and its amazing the friendships you make in short time over here. x
